Lean Alaska recognizes the importance of having an instructor who has a working knowledge of the rigorous requirements that ASQ requires. In knowing this, Lean Alaska is focused on building practitioners who know , understand, and use the tools laid out for Lean Six Sigma. The Certified Six Sigma Black Belt is a professional who can explain Six Sigma philosophies and principles, including supporting systems and tools. A Black Belt should demonstrate team leadership, understand team dynamics and assign team member roles and responsibilities.
Black belts have a thorough understanding of all aspects of the define, measure, analyze, improve and control (DMAIC) model in accordance with Six Sigma principles. They have basic knowledge of lean enterprise concepts, are able to identify non-value-added elements and activities and are able to use specific tools.
With experience and numerous projects mentored and completed, your instructor will be able to help guide you through a project that meets the ASQ standard to obtain the ASQ Certification for Black Belt since they do require that you complete at least one Six Sigma project and submit a project affidavit.
To support this, Lean Alaska now offers project portfolios after you attend the Lean Alaska training and complete a project under their mentorship.
